The PR 5115A Signal Calculator is a versatile, industrial-grade signal processing module that enhances automation and measurement systems by combining precision signal conditioning with programmable arithmetic functions. The 5115A multifunctional signal calculator, from PR electronics, supports redundant measurement of two input signals, allowing automatic switch-over if a primary sensor fails. Thus, the PR 5115A is ideal for critical temperature or process monitoring applications.

Featuring universal input compatibility for RTD, thermocouple (TC), ohm, mV, mA, and voltage signals, the PR 5115A enables wide-ranging deployment across industrial environments. Its programmable arithmetic capabilities, for example, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, allow complex operations such as differential and average signal calculations, making it perfect for advanced control strategies.

  • Redundancy measurement of temperature by means of two sensors, where the secondary sensor takes over the measurement when a sensor error occurs on the primary sensor.
  • Duplication of the input signal, for example, from a temperature sensor or an analog process signal to two separate analog outputs.
  • Signal calculator with four arithmetical operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, as well as division. 
  • Example: Differential measurement: (Input 1 * K1) - (Input 2 * K2) + K4.
  • Example: Average measurement: (Input 1 * 0.5) + (Input 2 * 0.5) + K4.
  • Example: Different functions on the outputs: Output 1 = input 1 - input 2, and Output 2 = input 1 + input 2.

Configuration is fast and intuitive using PReset software and PR 5909 Loop Link communications. A bright green LED clearly indicates normal operation, sensor error, or functional fault status.
