The PR 5802 Compact RTD Temperature Transmitter is a precise signal transmitter that converts resistance temperature detector (RTD) signals into a reliable 4-20 mA analog output for process control systems. With support for Pt100-Pt1000 and Ni100-Ni1000 RTD sensors, the 5802, from PR electronics, ensures accurate, linearized temperature measurement across demanding industrial environments.

PR 5802 Compact RTD Temperature Transmitter from PR electronics

Featuring better than 0.1% accuracy of the selected range, the PR 5802 Compact RTD Temperature Transmitter delivers high-resolution temperature conversion. Furthermore, the 5802 is suitable for automation, HVAC systems, manufacturing plants, and energy monitoring applications. Its flexible 2-wire and 3-wire RTD input configuration with cable compensation improves signal integrity over long runs, thus reducing errors from lead resistance. Ideal for easy system integration, this temperature transmitter operates on a wide 8-35 V DC supply. In addition, it provides a standard 4-20 mA output compatible with PLCs, DCS, and SCADA platforms. Programmable sensor error values as well as NAMUR NE43 upscale/downscale fault signaling add robust diagnostic capabilities to enhance process safety and uptime.

  • Within a few seconds, users can program the PR 5802 Compact RTD Temperature Transmitter to measure temperatures within all RTD ranges defined by the norms.
  • The RTD and resistance inputs have cable compensation for 3-wire connection.

 

Easy Mounting and Installation

The tiny footprint of the PR 5802 and optional M12 connector make it perfect for tube mounting or custom housings where space is limited. With programmable response time and low power consumption, this RTD transmitter brings precise, reliable temperature measurement to industrial automation as well as control systems.

  • For tube mounting, for example, M18 barrel housing or customer specific housing.
  • The unit is tested with an M12 connector, mounted in a steel housing and molded with Silgel 612 silicone molding compound.
  • This is PR electronics' recommended method to comply with specifications and EMC data.
