One I/O System with Numerous Input/Output Options

Sometimes you only need a little bit, sometimes you need a lot. With the OCS-I/O, from Horner Automation, you start with a Base Unit: either the CN100 or the CNX116, which allow expansion of up to 7 I/O modules of your choice. The CNX116 itself also includes I/O (input/output). Furthermore, the CNX116 offers the perfect introductory amount of Input/Output for Horner OCS Controllers.

For example, the CNX116 Base Unit provides (2) Flexible Inputs (digital or 12-bit analog), (2) Digital Outputs, (1) 16-bit Universal Analog Input, and (1) 12-bit Analog Output onboard. Two inputs can receive either digital or analog signals, giving it up to 3 analog inputs without needing another module. From there, operators can select from 10 I/O modules, each with different combinations of I/O options, to built their ideal suite of input / output connections.

  • Modular CsCAN remote I/O platform with seamless integration, functionality, and low cost in mind. OCS-I/O is a modular I/O system for OCS offering a fieldbus network (CsCAN). It is a flexible I/O system that can be applied as a local expansion I/O or as remote I/O distributed over hundreds of meters.
  • Fieldbus Network - the OCS-I/O has both a CsCAN In as well as a CsCAN Out in order to easily daisy-chain CsCAN networks with module RJ45 connections. In addition, it's expandable up to 7 modules per base and 16 bases per network!
  • Compact Footprint - a fully loaded base still fits in a footprint of 3.5 x 8.75 inches (90 x 215 mm). Furthermore, it uses sturdy spring-clamp terminals to maintain a low profile design.

Highly Expandable and Flexible Remote OCS-I/O

The Horner OCS-I/O system stands out as a highly expandable, flexible, and future-ready remote I/O solution designed to grow with your automation needs. With support for up to 7 modules per base and up to 16 bases per network, the OCS-I/O provides an impressive level of expandability that's capable of meeting nearly any input and output requirements. The modular design allows users to build the exact configuration they need while maintaining a compact and efficient footprint.

Each OCS-I/O base is equipped with both CsCAN In and CsCAN Out ports, enabling effortless daisy-chaining of multiple bases. This eliminates the need for custom cabling or complex wiring schemes, thus simplifying installation and reducing overall system costs. The plug-and-play nature of CsCAN networking ensures reliable communication, easy expansion, and seamless integration with Horner OCS controllers

In addition to CsCAN, OCS-I/O also offers robust Modbus communication capabilities, making it compatible with a wide range of third-party systems and enhancing its value in mixed-vendor environments. This combination of modularity, networking simplicity, and open communication creates virtually unlimited possibilities for scalable control architectures.

Input / Output with Easy Configuration

Whether a little or a lot, OCS-I/O configuration is meant to be simple and effortless. It’s configured using Cscape software, which is especially powerful with the new Cscape 10 update. When wired up, the OCS-I/O can find the base and populate all installed modules automatically. From there, you may only need to tweak a couple of configurations for the base or modules to be ready to go. Also, Cscape calculates Input / Output power usage automatically, so you’ll never overload an I/O base.

Micro CPU Series - A Perfect Partner for OCS-I/O

Horner-CPU-Series-PLC-Automation-Controllers

The Micro CPU Series packs Horner's same trusted performance for automation control into a small, streamlined package. The Micro CPU200 and Micro CPU250 PLCs can easily expand with up to 7 OCS-I/O modules locally. The Micro CPU Series provides the same reliable, powerful control capabilities as the well-established Micro OCS Series - just without a built-in display. Best of all, it easily mounts on a DIN-rail.

With the Micro CPU200 and Micro CPU250, operators can easily connect and manage equipment. The Micro CPU Series features a USB-C programming port and support for serial, Ethernet, and CAN communications as a standard, as well as support for WebMI for use as a remote interface.

Furthermore, the Micro CPU250 offers all the same amazing features as the CPU200, but it also includes built-in I/O for an even more streamlined solution. The CPU250 comes with up to 34 I/O points – a whopping 16 (8 in + 8 out) of which can configure as analog! Our Micro CPU modular automation controllers bring powerful control and flexible and expandable input and output options together in one easy-to-install device, perfect for a wide range of industrial applications.

Go Full Circle with OCS-I/O, Canvas CPU300, and an HMI Connect Display

Horner-Automation-Canvas-CPU300-and-HMI-Connect-Display-PSC-TexasFor even more functionality, the new Canvas CPU300 is a great option. On its face, it looks like a traditional PLC with capabilities including local logic, expansion via OCS-I/O, and a full array of communications ports. However, the CPU300 includes logic, graphics, and programs using Cscape 10 in a single application file. The Horner CPU300 includes a suite of new connectivity including USB-C, dual Ethernet ports with support for a built-in switch, and a new display connection for remote displays in Horner's HMI Connect Series.

The HMI Connect Series seamlessly integrates with Horner CPU300 controllers, require absolutely no setup or configuration, and they can mount wherever you want! Connecting via a single, robust cable, these HMIs really shine with unseen flexibility in automation control design. HMI Connect touchscreens are available in 4", 7", 10", and 15" Resistive Touch displays (IP65 rated), as well as 7" and 10" Advanced LCD with PCAP (capacitive) Touchscreen (IP67 rated) for outdoor applications. These HMI displays feature a powerful multi-core SOM with performance on par with Horner’s Canvas Series of all-in-one controllers. The HMI Connect series delivers flexible, rugged operator interfaces that seamlessly extend Horner’s modular controller ecosystem.
